Stephan El Shaarawy is set to re-join AS Roma, according to the Italian journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio.
At AC Milan, where he became a celebrity before joining AS Monaco on loan, the Italian international made his name. El Shaarawy then briefly went to AS Roma in 2016, where he scored eight goals in 16 games, resulting in the move being made permanent.
For the capital city giants, the player made a further 93 appearances, then transferred to China in 2019 for super wages at Shanghai Shenhua.
As the Italian midfielder, who is still in the prime of his career at the age of 28, wants to return to the big time, the contract looks to be in reverse now. He has indeed arrived in Italy and looks set to join Roma again.
Tomorrow afternoon, he will undergo a medical course and should be formally announced as a Serie A player by the evening, unless there are any complications.
