Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reflected on the debut of forwarding Amad Diallo, who came on as a substitute in the 83rd minute, after the first leg of the Europa League 1/16 final against Sociedad (4-0).

“He’s getting closer and closer [to the opening minutes of the pitch]. In the closing stages at 3-0, we let him enjoy the opening 10 minutes,” Solskjaer told BT Sport.

“When is he going to be in the starting line-up? After [Sunday’s] game against Newcastle United, we will know. He has played a few backup games and, of course, there are still several replacements who want to be in the starting line-up. We’re going to see how much playtime he gets.”
