After an outstanding run of form between the end of 2020 and the start of 2021, Barcelona star Sergio Busquets has praised his teammates.

In their last eight La Liga games, Ronald Koeman’s side has picked up 20 points, with La Blaugrana rising to third in the table as a result. With six starts and two substitute appearances, Busquets has been an ever-present presence in that run and he is pleased with the direction the club is going in.

“Now the team is much stronger and we are much more confident,” he told Marca in an interview.

The odds keep coming and now the targets are coming in and that makes it all easier.

“Hopefully, in the months ahead, we can continue to grow as a team.”
In Barcelona’s 4-0 La Liga victory at Granada last weekend, Busquets also celebrated a milestone appearance, as he picked up his 600th club appearance.

He is currently fourth, behind Andres Iniesta (674), Lionel Messi (752), and Xavi Hernandez, on the all-time list at Camp Nou (767).”

Busquets will not replace former teammate Iniesta in 2021, but before making a crunch decision on his future this summer, Messi looks certain to overhaul Xavi as the No.1 appearance maker.
