Nelson Semedo, a defender for Wolverhampton Wanderers, has opened up about his decision to leave Barcelona.
“When I returned from vacation, my family and I went to Barcelona to have a proper talk. The club’s financial difficulties were explained to me, and I was one of the players who could leave and carry money to the club,” Semedo told The Telegraph.
“This is a condition that many people have found themselves in. Suarez, Vidal, and Rakitic are three of the greatest players in the world. All clubs are facing financial difficulties as a result of the coronavirus.”
“When there are no supporters in the stands, every club becomes financially weak. Fans of Barcelona were unable to reach the club’s museum.”
“In football, anything can happen, but I was always shocked that I was allowed to leave. My decision to transfer to Wolverhampton was a wise one. I didn’t hesitate.”
