Ronald Koeman future safe at Barcelona

Football News

According to a source, Barcelona has no intentions to oust Ronald Koeman from his role before the start of the 2021-22 season.
The former Netherlands manager saw his team drop out of the Champions League after being embarrassed on home soil by Paris Saint-Germain, and he has yet to win over the entire Blaugrana fanbase.

However, after a meeting with newly-elected president Joan Laporta, TV3 informs that the pair’s talks were encouraging, and Koeman will remain in charge for the start of the new season.

According to the source, the Blaugrana manager will have the final say on any future incomings at the club, with Laporta set to speak with the 58-year-old after the international break to negotiate transfer goals.

Lyon’s Memphis Depay is eager to reunite with his former national team manager, although talk of a move for his compatriot Georginio Wijnaldum persists.

Koeman has won 29 of his 43 games in charge of the club, and his team is only four points behind La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid.
