This summer, Real Madrid has a difficult job with its star defender and captain Sergio Ramos looking to leave the club after 15 long years at the Spanish Capital Club. It is not an easy task to replace one of the best defenders in the world for so many years, but Real has all the money in the world to land a capable replacement when we look at a few choices.

In the summer of 2021, Alaba’s contract at Bayern Munich expires and it is known that the Austrian international has made up his mind that he will move on in search of a new adventure. Like Ramos, Alaba has been molded from full-back into a center-back and can prove to be a good backup for him at Santiago Bernabeu.

Upamecano is a modern-day central defender and from the back, he has the consistency to build. The 22-year-old could be an ideal long-term substitute for Ramos.

It is believed that Zinedine Zidane is a major admirer of the powerful and confident defender and it is also understood that Real Madrid is regarded by De Ligt as his dream destination. Juventus are not ready to let go of the starlet, but it seems like Los Blancos are going to be relentless in their search.
