The club has reported that Paris Saint-Germain coach Mauricio Pochettino has tested positive for Covid-19. The Argentine has gone into isolation and won’t be on the bench on Saturday for his side’s Ligue 1 game against Anger. Instead, Jesus Perez and Miguel D’Agostino’s assistant coaches will take care of the squad for the away match.
“Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has tested positive for Sars-Cov2 after a PCR test,” a club statement read.
“Now he’s going to be in isolation, following the necessary medical advice. His assistants Jesus Perez and Miguel D’Agostino will take over his duties starting tomorrow at Anger.”
For Saturday’s match because of Covid-19, PSG will also be without Colin Dagba, Thilo Kehrer, and Rafinha, while Juan Bernat is missing with a knee injury and goalkeeper Alexandre Letellier is unavailable due to an elbow problem.
“We’ll have to be ready on Saturday because it’s a very difficult game against AngerAnger’s ahead of us.
We want to win again and we have to be willing to do so. We want to be at the top of the Ligue 1 table and we’ll have to win to get there.
In our results, the most important thing is to be consistent. We’re very pleased with how our ideas are picked up by the players. I want to thank them, the team we already had here, and the fans who supported us before the match.”
At the start of January, Pochettino replaced Thomas Tuchel at the helm of the French champions. Since he took over, they’ve won two and drawn one match.
