Paulo Dybala is the new Lionel Messi, and he should join Real Madrid, according to former Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini, who says the Juventus star should seek a move in January.
Dybala’s future at Juve has been the subject of much speculation in recent months, with his new deal at the Allianz Stadium due to expire in 2022.
Fabio Paratici, Bianconeri ‘s sports director, has insisted that the Argentine is in line for a new contract, and he appears to be linked to a move from Turin during the interest reported from Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 26-year-old ‘s status was not helped by a lack of regular minutes at the start of the season, with Andrea Pirlo only giving the midfielder three Serie A appearances to date.
Zamparini is unable to understand why a man he thinks has all the resources to follow in the footsteps of the Barcelona and Argentina legend Messi does not start every week at Juve and has urged him to move to new pastures to unlock his full potential.
The former Palermo chief told Tuttosport: “I am always persuaded that he is the new Messi. Dybala, as well as a fighter, is a decent person. And I can’t understand why many insiders seem to forget him. That Dybala is not a starter in Serie A is blasphemous. Three years ago, Paulo was expected to take my advice to step away from Turin. I told him directly, ‘Paulo, for your own sake, you must leave Juventus.’ His football is fantasy [and is better suited to] Spain, either in Barcelona or at Real Madrid.
Zamparini went on to suggest Madrid as the perfect next destination for Dybala, who joined Juve from Palermo in 2015, with his conviction that the talented playmaker wants to come out of Cristiano Ronaldo’s shadow as soon as possible.
“The advice I’m giving him today is the same:’ Paulo, go to Real Madrid and leave Juventus.’ Maybe as early as January. For everyone, it would be a good deal. For everyone, it would be a good deal, “he said.
“For him and for Juventus too, who already wanted to sell him two summers ago. Paulo is a champion and not a deputy. There’s Cristiano Ronaldo, a true Juventus phenomenon, and Dybala has to go and play against Ronaldo in another major squad.”
