Real Madrid is officially unable to authorize a permanent exit for midfielder Martin Odegaard.

The highly-rated Norwegian has failed to get a look-in under Zinedine Zidane this term and is understood to have requested a loan move from the club in January.

Reportedly, Arsenal approached signing a short-term deal with Odegaard, although it was also mooted to return to his former Real Sociedad club.

Marca reports, however, that while a loan conversion is an option in January, Los Blancos would not consider selling it permanently.
