In the final minutes of the game, Wolves’ goalkeeper Rui Patricio was involved in a horrific collision with captain Conor Coady. When both players were attempting to prevent Mohamed Salah from scoring a goal that was overruled for offside, Patricio’s head collided with Coady’s shin. The match was delayed for about 15 minutes as Portugal international received medical attention.

The 33-year-old was stretchered off and replaced by John Ruddy after suffering a concussion, according to reports.

Following a collision with teammate Conor Coady in Wolves’ loss to Liverpool, RUI PATRICIO was stretchered off and needed oxygen. The game, which was determined by a strike from ex-Wolves striker Diogo Jota, was called off for around 15 minutes while the Portuguese goalkeeper was treated on the pitch.

Following Rui Patricio’s head injury, Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo shared some positive news, stating that his star goalkeeper would recover and be “OK.”

According to Nuno, who talked to Sky Sports, “We just got the news that he’s fine. He’s awake, knows what happened, and is aware, so the doctors say he’s fine. I believe it was a head-on accident with Coady’s knee. But he’s fine; he’s already chatting. When it comes to a concussion in the head, all of these conditions make us anxious. But he’ll be fine; he’ll heal.”
