Mauricio Pochettino: Paris Saint-Germain

Mauricio Pochettino has signed a one-year contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain until 2023. The former Spurs boss had signed an 18-month contract with an option of a one-year extension. The one year extension has been offered after the manager was linked to Real Madrid and Spurs. Pochhetino could not lead the French giants to league glory as they were pipped by Lille while losing to Manchester City in the Champions League.

“I’m really very happy, for myself and also for my staff.” Mauricio Pochettino said after signing a contract extension at Paris Saint-Germain. “It’s very important for us to feel the confidence of the club and we will give our maximum so that the supporters are proud of Paris St Germain. That’s why we will try and reach our objectives altogether, as one. Twenty years ago I was captain of this club and today I am the coach. It’s a dream come true.”

“With Mauricio’s leadership, we’re excited and confident about what the future holds.” Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the club’s chairman said.

It is looking increasingly unlikely that Paul Pogba will sign a contract extension with Manchester United with massive interest from Paris Saint-Germain. No solution has been found during talks between Pogba’s representatives and Manchester United. It has been widely reported that he has turned down a concrete offer of a contract extension. The World Cup winner has entered into the final year of his contract with a decision needed to be made whether to sell him or allow him to see out his contract.
