Matthijs De Ligt decline all Barcelona rumors

There have been whispers that the defender feels uneasy in Turin and regrets leaving Ajax for Serie A over Barcelona.

De Ligt has batted off the rumors, claiming that he has not been contacted by the Catalan giants to discuss a prospective transfer.

“I am very happy at Juve. And I feel like a fish in water,” he said.

“I feel good on the pitch and appreciated. Would they let me go? There are plenty of clubs that have money problems, but you should ask the club.

“I don’t know. These [Barcelona rumors] make no sense now. That is not important to me and nobody has informed me about it.”

Barca’s defense is in desperate need of reinforcements, but given the club’s massive debts, it’s tough to see how the Catalans could afford to sign De Ligt anytime soon.
