In the first game of the 25th round of the English Football Championship, Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Leeds United 1-0 (0-0) at their Molineux.
The “wolves” came to victory with a great deal of luck when Traore’s shot from more than 20 meters hit the crossbar and then bounced into the back of goalkeeper Leeds Meslier and the net.
With this win, Wolverhampton overtook Leeds in the standings, now 11th with 33 points, while Leeds is 12th with 32.
At the top is Manchester City with 56 points, 10 more than Manchester United and Leicester City.
A piece of Adama Traore’s brilliance earned Wolves back-to-back victories, even if the winning goal can never be credited to the Spaniard. Traore tricked his way past Luke Ayling, cut inside, and released a thunderbolt of an effort that almost broke the crossbar before bouncing on his way into the Leeds United net from the back of goalkeeper Illan Meslier.
That proved the decisive moment in a highly entertaining Molineux game, which saw both sides enjoy chances, with Nelson Semedo on multiple occasions threatening his first Wolves goal and Liam Cooper coming close for the visitors twice, before Patrick Bamford had a strike ruled out for offside.
