Union Berlin beat Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 in the first match of the 16th round of the German Bundesliga, worsening the “pharmacists'” crisis.
The decisive goal was scored with the help of Christopher Lenz by Cedric Teuchert in the 88th minute.
It was the hosts’ fast counter, after which Teuchert broke out in front of Lucas Hradecky himself and scored 1-0. Interestingly, in the 50th minute, the same player was in the same situation but then hit the post.
For part of the match, Leverkusen dominated but did not manage to break through the Berlin team’s defense.
It’s the fourth winless streak in a row for Bayer, while the Union has stretched its unbeaten streak to six matches.
With 29 points, Bayer remained in the third position, four less than Bayern’s lead, while RB Leipzig was in second with 31 points. With 28 points, Union Berlin jumped to fourth place.
