In the 23rd round of the Premier League, Leeds United beat Crystal Palace 2:0 away. Thanks to two easy objectives, the hosts won.
Both Leeds and Crystal Palace have experimented with differing fortunes in recent times. With ties and losses, all teams have alternate wins. As a result, both teams, even with the same amount of points on their account, were in the middle of the table.
The hosts took the lead straight away. Jack Harrison ran into the penalty area of the competitors already in the 3rd minute and hit the target.
The ball bounced off one of the defenders’ knees, puzzled Vicente Guaita, and dropped into the net. After the fast loss of the goal, the visitors were disoriented and gave their rivals the initiative.
In the 10th minute, Patrick Bamford came close to raising the lead. His headshot was, however, well saved by Guaita, who saved the ball reflexively.
Leeds were swift to strike a blow again after the break.
This time, it was Patrick Bamford who scored to beat Raphinha in the 52nd minute. There were a few decent opportunities for the tourists to catch up, but they got it wrong at the concert.
Like Eberechi Eze, who slammed high over the goal in a good situation. For the hosts, Stuart Dallas tried to increase the score, but the visitor’s goalkeeper had the upper hand again. In the end, Harrison always hit the crossbar.
Winning comfortably, Leeds claimed their third win in their last five games. With 32 points, they are now 10th in the league. The Crystal Palace is three places lower than that.
