Brighton got their Premier League campaign off to the perfect start with a 2-0 win against Watford. The surprising part of their football results this season is that they have scored four goals combined, a department which was lacking massively last season.
Shane Duffy opened the scoring for Brighton in the 10th minute with a brilliant header from a corner. Neil Maupay then doubled the lead for the hosts after a defensive mistake at the back from Watford. Maupay limped off the pitch at halftime after what looked like a shoulder problem.

Managers Reaction
Brighton boss Graham Potter: “We played well first half. It was a great goal from Shane [Duffy] and we controlled our attacks well and got the second goal from a recovery pressing action. We probably won the game in that half and had to defend well when the opposition responded. I’m really happy. It’s not easy to keep aside with that attacking talent quiet.”
Watford boss Xisco Munoz: “The first half wasn’t a good performance. But the second half was positive where we played with our style. But we need to learn quickly about the Premier League as sometimes you have to deal with problems.”
