Mario Mandzukic discusses why ‘ambition’ drew him to Milan, reuniting with former teammates and matching ‘beast’ Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The 34-year-old Croatian wore the Juventus jersey from 2015 to 2020, but he feels a little rusty with his Italian, so he chose to give an interview to Milan TV in his native language.

“There are different reasons why I have chosen Milan. It is a historic club and fulfills my goals fully. Both of us know what Milan stands for.

Lately, I have been working hard to get a call from an important club like Milan. Recently, I have practiced a lot and those close to me know how much work I have put in to make sure I’m ready to compete for trophies, so Milan doesn’t need to worry about my level of fitness.

Mandzukic may be the understudy of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but there is no reason why they can’t play together either.

Since I was very young, I’ve been watching Zlatan’s success and am glad to finally be on the same team as him. Both of us are hungry for results.
On the pitch, he’s always a blast, and I’m going to try to be the same. Together, I think we will do very well.”
