Roberto Mancini, Italy CT, claimed Monza forward Mario Balotelli still has time to win the Azzurri a return. ‘In Italy, he has the best technique’.
After relegation to Serie B, the striker left Brescia and transferred to Monza in the same division, but since his transfer, he has struggled with injuries.
Balotelli, who has Inter, Manchester City, Milan, Liverpool, and Nice experience, scored in the second tie in his only appearance.
Mancini has defended his former pupil on many occasions, who has not managed to meet his potential, and says that the forward is indeed one of Italy’s most technically talented players.
“The national team’s doors are open to all,” said Mancini in an interview with Tiki Taka. The Italian player with the best technical qualities is still Mario.
“He’s lost a little in recent years, but he’s still young. He’s 30.”
Mancini said he wants to return to coaching a club and announced that, after Qatar 2022, he will step down as Italy’s coach.
