Manchester City will be missing five players because of COVID-19 for their clash with Chelsea this weekend.
Pep Guardiola has confirmed three more “important” Manchester City players have tested positive for COVID-19 before their Premier League visit to Chelsea on Sunday.
City’s top-flight clash with Everton on Monday was postponed after a coronavirus outbreak at the club, with Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker and two more staff members testing positive for COVID-19.
“It was four people, two players, the first time and then three more. I don’t think the Premier League makes it easy for us to name players, but tomorrow you’ll know. We must, perhaps, value the privacy of the players. You’ll see the lineups tomorrow and three big players will not be there, so you’ll know exactly, but I’m not allowed to tell you.
People are dying all around the world. Unfortunately, the problem is still here but now the training center is disinfected and hopefully the next tests everyone is negative center the positive people can come back without problems.”
