Low-key birthday for skipper Belotti

Football News

After a 1-1 home draw with Bologna, Torino remained second to last at the start of the Italian Serie A Sunday program.

When he tried to clear a goal-bound free-kick from replacement Simone Verdi with his foot, Bologna goalkeeper Angelo Da Costa turned into his net, while Vanja Milinkovic-Savic let the ball slip under his legs as ex-Torino Roberto Soriano leveled from inside the box.

Soriano is now on six league goals, while Andrea Belotti, skipper of Il Toro, celebrated his 27th birthday with no meaningful chance of raising his nine-goal tally.

AC Milan’s leaders close matchday 13 at Sassuolo later on Sunday.
