Liverpool interested in signing Sander Berge

Football News

According to Eurosport, Liverpool is interested in signing Sander Berge from Sheffield United in the summer of 2021.

Aston Villa is said to be interested in signing the midfielder, and now Liverpool, the reigning Premier League champions, have entered the chase.

According to the paper, Liverpool is preparing to make an offer for the Norway international, who joined the Blades for £22 million in 2020 and is almost certain to leave the club, which is expected to be relegated at the end of the season.

According to the article, Liverpool sees Berge as a possible replacement for midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, who has been on the Merseyside club’s books since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Newcastle United for a record £25 million transfer fee and is out of contract at the end of the season.

Berge, who is 23 years old and has played well for United so far, would be a good signing for Liverpool if the price was right.

The Norway international midfielder has been out since December due to a tendon injury in his leg, and the Blades have missed him greatly.

Berge is a versatile midfielder who can strengthen the Reds’ midfield, and considering his age, he has the potential to develop even further.

Berge scored one goal and got one assist in 13 Premier League games for the Blades this season, according to WhoScored.
