Three first-team players were invited back by Jurgen Klopp, one of whom was Thiago before the festive season.
For most of the season, the Liverpool manager has had to contend with a hefty injury list.

Since October’s Merseyside derby, summer signing Thiago has been missing but was seen during training.

Since joining from Bayern Munich, the Spaniard has only played twice but is closing in on a first-team return after being spotted with Klopp.

Thiago’s workload on Wednesday is uncertain, but if he takes part in Christmas Day training, then he could be a choice for the Reds to come to the Hawthorns on Sunday.

In the space of eight days, the Premier League champions face West Brom, Newcastle, and Southampton.

Klopp, however, does not lack midfield choices, so Thiago should be able to ease back in as opposed to rushing him back out of desperation.

As James Milner returned, another midfielder, although a versatile one, was seen in full training.

The 34-year-old hobbled off in November against Brighton and has not been seen since then.

But he’s been involved in training and looks to be a choice for Klopp again.
