It was another night of success for Premier League champions Liverpool as they were crowned Team of the Year at the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year Awards.

Manager Jurgen Klopp was also named Coach of the Year, while for the main award of the evening, Lewis Hamilton finished runner-up to Formula 1 superstar Jordan Henderson.

Klopp said in an interview with the BBC, commenting on the performance of his side: “My team deserves this because they have done an incredible job. It’s a mix of the club’s talent, character, desire, and power, which is a big one. Everything comes together and when we became champions, it was a great moment.

We want to organize a big party, if it’s allowed again, it may take a little while, but maybe we can win something else before then, we’ll see. We can’t wait to see the fans again and it’s even sweeter to win this award in Manchester.”
