According to a source, Leeds has shown interest in an eye-catching move for Wolves winger Adama Traore as the Whites close in on a big boost in transfer funds.
After his initial spell at Middlesbrough, Traore has been one of the most entertaining players in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old illustrated at Boro his raw potential, but at Wolves, he has since taken himself to a new level. Indeed, among other characteristics, his speed and strength have reportedly attracted the attention of Liverpool and Manchester City.
However, Leeds have registered a ‘new’ willingness to land Traore ahead in a potential swoop, according to 90min.
Amid Wolves, the interest comes in looking likely to reduce their winger’s valuation. Indeed, in the light of his continuing contract stalemate, he has struggled for game time this season.
In the pecking order, the likes of Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence are ahead of Traore. What’s more, in any of his 15 appearances this term, the winger has failed to notch a goal or assist.
Previous records, meanwhile, have shown that Wolves have been ‘upset’ by Traore for stalling on his new deal. The new contract for the Spaniard runs out in the summer of 2023.
Now, 90min claims, however, the ‘frozen’ talks.
As such, Wolves could lower the winger’s value below the £ 70 million marks he has stood at for the past year. A deal near the £ 40 million marks could be approved by the Molineux club.
Either way, to get regular first-team football, Traore is now looking to step away from Molineux. Indeed, after receiving his first call-up from Spain recently, he has his sights set on Euro 2021.
