A late comeback from Real Betis won them a point against Real Sociedad in La Liga in the Basque Country.
La Real took the lead through Alexander Isak in the 48th minute, with Mikel Oyarzabal doubling their advantage just before the hour mark.
Before the Betis captain turned goalscorer in the 89th minute to save what was, mentally, a big result, Sergio Canales pulled one back five minutes from time, teed up by veteran Joaquin.
The result leaves eight Andalusians, only four points behind La Real in the sixth, and just seven points behind in the Champions League. Betis are now well and truly in the mix for a Europa League spot, unbeaten in four in La Liga.
On Tuesday night, both sides locked their horns again, this time in Seville. They are contesting the Copa del Rey’s last 16. Betis will face Osasuna next weekend in La Liga, while La Real will fly to Villarreal.
