Ozan Kabak did not have an easy start to life in Liverpool, but his new boss was inspired by his signing. As far as the defender is trying to make the most of his Liverpool chances, Ozan Kabak has suitably impressed Jurgen Klopp.
Kabak transferred to Anfield on the final day of the mid-season transfer window, initially joining Schalke on loan until the end of the current campaign.
“Big potential, 20 years old and already pretty experienced, to be honest,” Klopp replied in his pre-match press conference ahead of the derby against Everton when asked about Kabak.
“In his career so far, when you are in Istanbul, he hasn’t taken the easy way when you can play for probably one of the biggest teams in the world [Galatasaray] and always be at the top of the table.
Then you’re going to Stuttgart and Schalke, where you have to fight hard to win football matches. From the point of view of education and development, that is good.”
“He’s here now and he looks promising. He looked really solid in both games. Yes, we all know what happened in the Leicester game, but he played a really solid game in this situation, not to mention who we were playing that day. In the Premier League, they were second or third, a tough one with all of the forwards they have.”
“He did well – long may it continue.”
