Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, according to Sport Bild, may be fined for not driving the proper vehicle to the training.
Coman was refused access to the underground garage by a steward and faces a fine of up to €50,000 for taking his Mercedes instead of his Audi company car to practice. Due to an agreement with the manufacturer, who is also a primary sponsor of the club, players are allowed to drive an Audi or Volkswagen to all “business” at Säbener Straße, according to club rules:
Hasan Salihamidzic, the sporting director, made a strong statement in January 2020. He told the team at the time that foreign car brands were no longer allowed in daily work because many Bayern stars continued to come to practice in their private luxury cars. The suspension was imposed by boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (65) as Brazzo sent the final sentence: “Greetings from Kalle!”
From now on, only Audi and VW Group shareholders’ vehicles will be permitted. The next person who breaks it will be fined 50,000 euros!
However, Coman isn’t the only Bayern Munich player who has broken this regulation. While on the Bayern Munich campus, Niklas Süle and Robert Lewandowski’s cars were also allegedly scrutinized.
Jamal Musiala’s mother, however, should be fine given Bayern Munich’s links to Volkswagen and Audi.
