Football News

Sergio Reguilon has revealed that he was given a cooked suckling pig by Jose Mourinho for Christmas.

As he realized he was spending the big day alone, the Tottenham boss wanted to handle the 24-year-old.

It is the second time that Mourinho has given Reguilon a slab of meat in as many months.

For the former Real Madrid star, the generous boss forked out £ 500 on a leg of ham in November.

And the Special One, 57, declined on Christmas Day to let the Spain International go without it.

Reguilon said he had a thousand wonderful stories’ about Mourinho during an interview with AS.

Naming one, he said, “On Christmas Day, for instance, he knows that I am alone.”

We got to training at 3 pm on the 25th and I had a package on my desk. I opened it and it was already cooked by a suckling pig.

“He told me, ‘I know you are alone at Christmas so you don’t have to cook dinner and eat well’.”

On a five-year contract in September, Reguilon joined Tottenham from Real Madrid.

The Spaniard, however, admitted he was struggling to adapt to the food provided in England.

He said: “Little by little, I’m adapting to the weather and especially to the food here, which is a bit different.”

“I can’t quite get a taste of English food. They always send me my hams and my things from Spain, the other day they sent me a box of fabada so imagine.”

But in North London, former Madrid team-mate Gareth Bale was on hand to help him settle in.

“He said, “I’m talking to Bale a lot. I did it in Madrid already, and here, too. I’ve got him sitting next to me.
