In his press conference today, Jose Mourinho spoke about Gareth Bale and his health and called his most recent Instagram post a complete ‘contradiction to reality,’ according to Sky Sports.
On Wednesday, before Tottenham’s midweek clash with Everton, Gareth Bale posted on Instagram with the caption ‘Nice session today’. Jose answered this post saying it was a ‘contradiction with the fact’ because in that training session he missed their game through injury and didn’t even feature.
Mourinho acknowledged that he did not even believe that the Welshman was in charge of the post. Jose replied:
I must admit that his post has generated a need to be discussed. There was a contradiction between fact and the message,
I’ve been trying to be very private and keep things indoors since the beginning of the season, in terms of everything, but I felt I wanted to fix the situation.
The post was not even his duty, but it showed that the training session was ‘perfect’ and ‘I’m ready,’ which was completely incorrect. So I had to offer the truth of things when asked.
“For the last time, I repeat. He didn’t feel well. He ordered a scan. He got a scan. The scan did not indicate an injury, but his feelings were still there, but we should never go against the player’s feelings as coaches, medical individuals.
He may have missed the Everton game through injury, but Jose has admitted that he will be in their squad away to Manchester City if Bale feels fine for the weekend.
“He wasn’t ready for the game, then. It is as easy as that. If he is ready for tomorrow, he will be chosen tomorrow.
Bale wanted to take a 5-4 loss, do you think he’d be able to make the difference to win the game?
