On this week’s Monday Night Football, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville named their favorite XIs for the Premier League season. The two teams seem to be identical, but both sides are lacking a few main players.
Martinez, Dias, Stones, Coufal, Shaw, Kante, Fernandes, De Bruyne, Son, Foden, Kane, as revealed on Twitter.
Mendy, Dias, Maguire, Walker, Shaw, Gundogan, Fernandes, De Bruyne, Rashford, Foden, Kane, as revealed by Sky Sports.
Any Liverpool fans reading this will be perplexed as to why Mohamed Salah has been left out of both teams after scoring 20 goals from the wing (just one fewer than Kane), while Manchester City fans will be perplexed as to why Golden Glove shoo-in Ederson has been left out of both teams while holding 18 clean sheets.
Aston Villa fans will be thinking the same thing about Jack Grealish, while Chelsea fans will be asking what Foden has done in the Premier League this season that Mason Mount hasn’t. However, it’s difficult to disagree with the inclusions of Dias, Shaw, Fernandes, De Bruyne, and Kane, who all deserve to be recognized.
Premier League – Jamie Carragher heaps praise on West Ham star
Following their crucial 2-1 win over Burnley last Monday night, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has sung the praises. He praised of full-back Vladimir Coufal.
Coufal was instrumental in the Hammers’ victory. This keeps them in contention for a top-four finish alongside Chelsea and Leicester City. He not only had a strong defensive performance, but he also contributed on the offensive side of the field. Coufal remained a relentless source of inspiration in his opponent’s final third. As shown by his first-half pin-point cross that set up striker Antonio.
Coufal’s latest performance has given him some high-profile credit, thanks to the 28-year-outstanding old’s personality.
Carragher said after Monday’s game on Sky Sports: “I think he’s been one of the signings of the season. We talk about [Tomas] Soucek, but Coufal is one of those players who is 7 – 10 minimum every time you watch him play, whether it’s right wing-back or right full-back at various times. He’s the kind of player you’d like to team up with. He’s a manager’s fantasy because he’s never sick and shows up week after week.”
