Marc Bartra challenged the choice to place a penalty on Seville during their match with Real Betis on Thursday night. The defender was rebuffed by arbitrator Antonio Mateu Lahoz, who adjudged the previous Barcelona man to foul Luuk de Jong. Lucas Ocampos scored the penalty as Seville proceeded to defeat his local rivals in the initial match of the arrival of LaLiga Santander.
When asked about the penalty, Bartra said to Movistar that he earned the spot in air and its defining moment for him.
This is what Batra said: “It’s fantastic. I’ve earned the spot in the air, I leap ahead and [De Jong] catches himself with my arms. I believe it’s a defining moment. It ‘s great-take a gander at his reaction. No one fought anything. Football is a contact sport. I don’t believe it’s a penalty and it decides everything. At this stage, the particulars decide a ton.”
