Maurizio Setti, the president of Hellas Verona, is being investigated by the Guarda di Finanza for money laundering and embezzlement. The Guarda di Finanza, according to the news agencies ANSA and Calcio e Finanza, seized €6.5 million from the businessman, which had been stolen from Hellas Verona.
The Bologna Public Prosecutor has reportedly launched a lawsuit against the businessman for money laundering and embezzlement, according to reports.
Setti is accused of deducting €6.5 million from the Gialloblu to save another club he manages from collapsing.
“The key figure of a well-known accounting cover-up operation to mask the influx of incriminated assets,” according to Setti.
