Harry Kane has reiterated his desire to leave Tottenham this season.
Spurs also started looking for new center-forwards, the first sign that the club can accept their 27-year-old talisman’s feelings. While they do not wish to sell their precious possession, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea have all contacted Kane’s agent, CK66, to show an interest in signing the England international.
Harry Kane prefers to be in the Premier League
Kane prefers to be in the Premier League and needs to get his career sorted out before representing England at the European Championships this summer. Kane has made no secret of his desire to challenge for Europe’s top team titles in recent interviews, having seen them slip away from him at both White Hart Lane and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham reportedly convinced Kane to postpone plans to leave the club last summer, after Jose Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino earlier in the 2019-20 season.
Spurs have hoped for a good first full season under Mourinho, and they were top of the Premier League in December, but their form deteriorated due to a Kane injury, and they are likely to lose out on Champions League football once more if they finish beyond the top four this season.
According to Sky Sports, a Tottenham spokesperson said: “We have a season to end. And we want to go out on a high note. That’s what anybody can be thinking about.”
After re-signing Edinson Cavani, Sky Sports News announced last week that United will not pursue another center-forward this summer. Opting to concentrate on improving at center-back and central midfield. Despite expectations that acquiring Kane will be too difficult and that Erling Haaland will remain at Dortmund.
In the meantime, City has Kane, Haaland, Romelu Lukaku, and Danny Ings on their radar. They are potential replacements for Sergio Aguero. Haaland, Lukaku, and now Kane have all been linked with Chelsea.
Spurs signed Kane to his latest deal ahead of the 2018 World Cup. It’s a contract that will keep him at the club until 2024. Kane, who had scored 30 Premier League goals the previous season, put pen to paper. Tottenham had only finished third in the Premier League and reached the FA Cup semi-finals under former manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Kane was recently voted Premier League Player of the Year at the 2021 London Football Awards. Although he stated that he prefers to win ‘unit trophies’ rather than individual awards. Particularly after the Spurs’ Carabao Cup exit earlier this season.
