Guardiola: “Man City waits for the right moment. That’s how we have won titles”

Football News

The results of the 3-1 victory over Chelsea in the 17th round of the EPL have been summed up by Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola.

“In the first minutes, they put pressure on us and we had a rough time. Apart from the last-minute goal, we didn’t let them do anything,” Guardiola told Sky Sports, according to the BBC.

“We played very well, and at Stamford Bridge, we got a great result. If you don’t play like that, you can’t win a trophy. One of the best teams in Chelsea. The outcome of their last game was frustrating, but the quality of their players, both on the field and the bench, is high.

We had a match plan; we were going to play the way we had done before. And all worked out. In every sense, especially in possession of the ball, the players behaved magnificently. We can’t play like other people, we have to act at our own pace, to attack us at the right time. That’s how – by being patient – we won trophies. Our players have to hold the ball on the ground, make a thousand passes from the goalkeeper to the forward and wait for the right moment.”
