Tammy Abraham’s promising Premier League goal record at Chelsea has been praised by Frank Lampard.
In Monday’s 3-0 victory over West Ham, Abraham became Chelsea’s second-youngest player to reach 20 Premier League goals, behind only Eden Hazard, with his brace.
With five strikes so far this season, Abraham now boasts 20 goals in 47 Premier League appearances.
And Boss Lampard hailed the homegrown striker for continuing to blossom, even as Chelsea’s prized number nine shirt was under pressure to wear.
Lampard said, “I’m very pleased with his form, and Tammy offers a lot. We saw that against West Ham the other night and we saw that this season whenever he played. At various times, Tammy and Olivier Giroud gave us a lot in their way. Now he just has to keep practicing to keep going forward. In terms of the Premier League and becoming Chelsea’s number nine, last season was a nice, real breakthrough season for him, and there is more work he can do.”
“With him, I’m very happy.”
