Managers Reaction

West Ham manager David Moyes: “That’s a big win for us because it was tough and it was an emotional game for us as well. We bring Yarmolenko on and he scores the goal. I have to say well done to him. It’s been really difficult for him, his family, all Ukrainians, as you can imagine. But sometimes to get out and play can make you feel better, so big credit to Yarma. He wasn’t fit in midweek, he had an illness, and in the other games we gave him the time off. But he’s come back today and helped to make the difference.”

Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard: “I think we lost the game on moments. I don’t think there was too much in the game. A couple of instances have obviously gone against us in the first half and we’ve had to make a substitution very early through injury. I don’t think we created enough in the final third in the first half, but in the second half, it was all to play for. We’ve conceded two poor goals, but more on the back of moments rather than being cut up by fantastic play.”
