West Brom missed closing the gap on the top two as they were involved in one of the goalless football scores of the weekend in the Championship. They dominated the game and had the better of the chances with Grady Diangana, Darnell Furlong, and Jordan Hugill all coming close to scoring. Their failure to find the back of the net meant they have now gone three games without scoring. Jayson Molumby was sent off for a second bookable offense when he brought down Joe Lolley with a late challenge.
Managers Reaction
West Brom’s Valerien Ismael: “I think the boys fought from the beginning until the end to save the point and, normally, we should score at the end. Tonight, I think we had four clear chances to score, with Darnell Furlong, Grady Diangana, Karlan Grant, and Jordan Hugill and we need to take our chances.”
Nottingham Forest’s Steve Cooper: “It could and should have been more. I’m a bit disappointed with us, to be honest, especially in the first half – that wasn’t a great version of the team that we can be. We didn’t play with enough intensity, we didn’t take the ball enough, we didn’t make enough passes.” he added. “I thought we upped it a little bit in the second half and were a better team. I thought the ball was played in their half more than ours, which is where we want to be, and then I think we could just be a little bit more creative and threatening. That’s another example of the fact we’ve got to take the next step.”
