Huddersfield produced a late winner to cause football scores upset against Sheffield United in the Championship. Josh Koroma opened the scoring for Huddersfield in the second half with a neat finish. Billy sharp looked to have salvaged a point after he scored in added time for the host’s but Levi Colwill scored with almost the last kick of the game to pile the misery on Sheffield united.
Sheffield United boss Slavisa Jovanovic made as many as five changes from the trashing they received midweek by Wes Brom. Wes Foderingham, Rhys Norrington-Davies and Ben Davies, Oli McBurnie, and Rhian Brewster were all recalled to the starting lineup by the boss. The changes seemed to have made a difference as the hosts dominated possession but could not score.
Sheffield United’s Slavisa Jokanovic: “It is, of course, a hard one for us to take. We tried really hard in the last 20 minutes and even after our goal, I thought we had enough time to win it still. In the end, Billy Sharp’s scoring was one positive but it was a really strange situation at the end of the game. We have tried switching from one side and did not find it an easy way to create chances but if you don’t make something happen then this situation in the end can happen.
Huddersfield’s Carlos Corberan: “It was a very tough game. They made us defend a lot of the time and we had to work a lot in our defense. We only had 30 percent of the ball so we had to dig deep but we started to create chances late on, which made us feel we could harm them. We started to create chances.”
