Football Scores

Peterborough put up a brilliant performance to earn one of the surprising football scores with a 3-0 win over Birmingham in the Championship. They ended a four-match losing streak with a classy home performance. Darren Ferguson broke the record for most games managed by a Posh Boss when he took charge of his 492nd game. It was his 222nd win and could be the most important one yet.

This was a game where form did not matter as Peterborough dominated a Birmingham side that was unbeaten away from home this season. They got off to the worst possible start when Harlee Dean put the ball into his own net with just 58 seconds on the clock. Clarke-Harris then dispatched a penalty in the 35th minute with Jorge Grant sealing the win with a neat finish.

Managers Reaction

Peterborough’s Darren Ferguson: “It’s not an easy thing to do to manage that many games and surpass a record that belonged to someone like Barry, who is a legend in the game.” he added. “It’s a proud moment as this is the club that has given me the most success throughout my career of 34 years. I’ve been here three times and the club means everything to me. It has brought me, my wife and my family so much joy.”

Birmingham’s Lee Bowyer: “Peterborough had the extra 24 hours rest with playing on Tuesday and us playing on Wednesday against a really good Fulham side – and it showed. They were first to everything whereas we were just a yard off in everything we tried to do.”
