Football Scores

Arsenal had their three-match winning streak come to an end with one of the boring football scores of the weekend in the Premier League. Both sides failed to find the back of the net in windy conditions with the rain pouring down. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang hit the post for the visitors while Shane Duffy nearly secured all three points in the last few minutes of the game. Brighton dominated the shots in the game with 21 of the 29 shots falling to the hosts. The result saw Brighton stay in fifth while Arsenal is into the top half of the table for the first time this season.

Managers Reaction

Brighton boss Graham Potter said: “The performance was fantastic. I loved our intensity, our courage. I thought it was a wonderful performance and I’m really proud. The hardest part of football is putting the ball in the net but we tried everything. Sometimes you don’t get what you deserve, but that’s life. We can take a lot from the performance.”

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said: “I think it’s a point gained because I don’t think we deserved anything more than that. If we did deserve. We never felt in control of the game. We struggled to break the press. But we did defend well in the last 15-20 meters of the pitch. It was a performance where we need to improve in other areas.”
