Tom Ince scored a late equalizer to help Reading produce one of the close football results of the midweek action in the Championship. Dominic Solanke opened the scoring in the eighth minute but the home side was not able to put the game to bed. They were made to pay when Ince scored in the 83rd minute. It was a blow to Bournemouth’s automatic promotion hopes but a shot in the arm for the survival hopes of the visitors. The home side was without manager Scott Parker after he was hit with a one-game touchline ban after he was sent off in their last match against Preston.
Managers Reaction
Bournemouth’s Scott Parker: “It was frustrating not being able to affect things. I didn’t enjoy one bit of tonight really. We started the game well, scored a lovely goal but then didn’t really assert ourselves. We looked a bit flat for one reason or another. We were a little bit sloppy in our all-around game which is something we need to look at.”
Reading’s Paul Ince: “I shouldn’t be sitting here now saying I’m disappointed with a point but I am. Bournemouth is a fantastic side so to come here and play the way we did is pleasing. It was a wonderful strike from Tom and it’s about time – he’s been here long enough. He showed what a good player he is tonight – he’s technically a very good player and this will do him good.”
