Fenerbahce has recently called former Napoli and Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri and will resume talks with him next week.
Sarri has been without a club since leaving Juventus last season, but he is still under contract with the Bianconeri.
Fenerbahce has fired Erol Bulut and named Emre Belozoglu as interim coach for the final ten games.
According to Turkish outlet Ajansspor, the club has contacted Sarri and President Ali Koc has offered the Florence coach a position in Turkey.
According to the paper, Sarri and the patron are close to finding an agreement and will meet again next week to finalize the terms of a proposed contract.
Sarri has also been linked with a return to Serie A in recent weeks, with speculation of a surprise return to Napoli or a substitute for Paulo Fonseca at Roma.
The 62-year-old collected his first trophy during his one season at Chelsea, where he won the Europa League, before winning his first Scudetto when Juventus won their ninth consecutive title last season.
