Facundo Pellistri of Manchester United recently tests positive for COVID-19

Football News

Facundo Pellistri of Manchester United recently tested positive for COVID-19, with the youngster previously expected to play this weekend against Watford.

This news comes from Equipo TMA, a talent agency that is the agent of Pellistri, a 19-year-old who signed with Man United over the summer transfer window, according to Transfermarkt.

While the Uruguayan has yet to make a senior appearance for the Red Devils, M.E.N announced that he was promoted to the first-team squad of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and was in line to make his debut this weekend in the FA Cup against Watford.

However, with his agency, Equipo TMA, taking to Twitter to confirm that he tested positive for COVID-19, it seems that Pellitri’s hopes of making his debut for Man United this weekend have now ended.

We’re waiting for official confirmation from Man United or the player himself, but this news seems to be credible, which is highly frustrating for Pellistri and disappointing for the United fans who were looking forward to seeing him in action this weekend. Equipo TMA states that Pellstri does not have any signs, at least one of which is positive.
