Euro 2020 Hungary

Hungary will be heading into Euro 2020, their second consecutive Euro Championship hoping to better their performance in 2016. Before Euro 2016, Hungary last played the World Cup in 1986. They finished the group stage unbeaten last time around with one win and two draws.

Goalkeeper: Peter Gulacsi

Peter Gulacsi has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga after joining six years ago. He has proven to be one of the best shot-stoppers and is not afraid to come off the line. After being drawn in the Group of Death, he will need to be at his best.

Defender: Willi Orban

Willie Orban has made over 200 appearances for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga and is one of the most technically sound defenders in the Bundesliga. He is extremely proficient in the air.  Orban’s aerial prowess will be tested to the full against the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Oliver Giroud on the group stage.

Midfielder: Adam Nagy

Adam Nagy, the Bristol midfielder is the link between the defence and the attack. At just 25 years of age, he is the second-most capped player in the Hungarian squad. Captain Adam Szalai is the only player in the current setup with more caps than him.

Forward: Adam Szalai

Adam Szalai has struggled to make a mark at the club level since re-joining Mainz at the start of last season, scoring just two Bundesliga goals. But at the international level, he remains an important part of Hungary plans for Euro 2020. The 33-year-old netted in back-to-back games during the recent break as Hungary drew 3-3 with Poland and beat San Marino 3-0, taking his tally to 23 goals in 70 caps.
