Euro 2020 Slovakia

Slovakia made its European Championship debut in 2016 and will look to get past the group stage in Euro 2020. They could not qualify via the traditional qualifying path but made it into the tournament via the playoffs.

Goalkeeper: Martin Dubravka

Slovakia has a world-class keeper in Martin Dubravka. He is the Number 1 keeper for Newcastle and has been the unanimous choice for his county since 2018. He has not played since 2019 due to injury. Dubravka has the second-best save percentage in the Premier League, saving 69.19 percent of shots faced.

Defender: Milan Skriniar

Martin Skrtel was a mainstay at the back for Slovakia throughout his long career. Following his retirement from international football, Milan Skriniar has taken over the mantle. He plays for Inter Milan in Serie A and has become one of the most reputed center backs in world football. Skriniar is known for his positional play as well as his ability with the ball at his feet.

Midfielder: Marek Hamsik

Marek Hamsik is no longer a household name after his move away from Napoli. He has been the star of the national side right from his debut in 2007. He started off as a defensive midfielder. Over the last few years, he has taken up a more attacking role in the side. His goal contributions will be pivotal for Slovakia in Euro 2020.

Forward: Michal Duris

Slovakia isn’t blessed with scoring strikers in their current squad, with a lot of the goals coming from the midfield, but Michal Duris appears to have the trust of the manager and is most likely to lead the line in the summer.

Predicted line-up:

Martin Dubravka; Tomáš Hubočan, Lubomír Satka, Milan Skriniar, Peter Pekarík; Róbert Mak, Juraj Kucka, Stanislav Lobotka, Marek Hamsik, Lukas Haraslín; Michal Duris
