Denmark earned their place in Euro 2020 when it finished unbeaten in Group D. They finished runners-up, narrowly missing out on the top spot by a solitary point. The Danish squad has a lot of experience and will look to emulate the 1992 side that won the Euros.
Goalkeeper: Kasper Schmeichel
Kasper Schmeichel has 63 caps for his country and has kept 32 clean sheets in that time. During qualifying, they conceded only six times, with three of those coming in a 3-3 draw with Denmark. He has locked up the Number 1 jersey for Denmark and will make his Euro 2020 debut this summer.
Defender: Simon Kjaer
Experience cannot be bought and Simon Kjaer has plenty of it. The lanky center-back has played for nine different clubs in six countries. He recently won his 100th international cap. He is one of the few survivors from the Euro 2012 squad that upset the Netherlands in the opening week of the tournament.
Midfielder: Christian Eriksen
Christian Eriksen is known the world over as one of the most creative players in the world. Eriksen has 106 caps for the country with an incredible goals tally of 36 for a midfielder. He has undertaken the tag of Michael Laudrup’s heir in the past, carrying the team by himself at times.
Forward: Martin Braithwaite
Eyebrows were raised when Barcelona, in early 2020, acquired the services of ex-Middlesbrough forward Martin Braithwaite after they were granted an emergency exception following Ousmane Dembele’s long-term injury. But in all fairness, he’s made the most of this opportunity, subsequently becoming a cult Camp Nou hero.
