Belgium heads into Euro 2020 as the Number One ranked team in the world. Their golden generation of players will be looking to win a major tournament for the first time in their history. After Euro 2016, Marc Wilmots got the sack and Roberto Martinez was brought in. Under Martinez, they finished third at the World Cup, losing to eventual winners France.

Goalkeeper: Thibaut Courtois

Thibaut Courtois has been one of the best goalkeepers in the world in recent times. He won the Golden Glove at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and was named the Goalkeeper of the Year in 2018. He was in scintillating form last season for Real Madrid as they narrowly missed out on the La Liga title.

Defense: Toby Alderweireld

Toby Alderwireld may have been separated from Jan Vertonghen at the club level but he remains the best defender for Belgium. He is a commanding defender with exceptional passing ability. Jason Denayer and Vertonghen are a formidable trio at the back for Belgium.

Midfield: Kevin De Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne is arguably the best midfielder in the world at this point in time. The Belgian can shoot with both legs and has an exceptional vision. De Bruyne is also known as one of the most accurate crossers of the ball and one of the most creative players in the world.

Attack: Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku has exploded into life the last two years with Inter Milan. They ended Juventus’ nine-year title win streak in the 2020/21 season. He is 28 years old and in his prime. With the likes of Kevin De Bruyne in the supply line, Romelu Lukaku will looks to power Belgium to the Euro 2020 title.
