Wales will go into Euro 2020 trying to replicate their success in Euro 2016. Wales topped their group consisting of England, Slovakia, and Russia. They beat Northern Ireland and Belgium in the knockout rounds before losing to eventual winners Portugal in the semi-finals.
Goalkeeper: Danny Ward
Danny Ward has been the mainstay of the Welsh national team despite not even featuring once for Leicester City in the Premier League. In Danny Ward, Wales has a keeper that commands his box and is a brilliant shot-stopper. He also plays a major role in getting Wales up the pitch by initiating the counter.
Defender: Joe Rodon
Tottenham bought Joe Rodon from Swansea City for £11m. Ever since his move, he has slowly made his presence felt in the Tottenham squad. Rodon has started the last six games for Wales, keeping four clean sheets in the process. Wales have conceded just four goals in these six games with three coming against Belgium.
Midfielder: Aaron Ramsey
Aaron Ramsey has endured a mixed bag with Juventus. He has been in and out of the team ever since joining Arsenal in 2019. Ramsey is used as a box-to-box midfielder for Wales. He has the knack of making late runs into the box, a major reason behind his 16 goals for his country.
Attacker: Gareth Bale
Gareth Bale is the most important player for Wales to any of the nation’s chances at the Euro 2020. The superstar has scored 33 goals for Wales, the most in the history of the Welsh national team. Wales endured a difficult start to the Premier League season under Jose Mourinho. Once the Portuguese were sacked, Bale exploded into life. He finished the season with a hat-trick against Sheffield United before scoring a brace against Leicester City on the last day of the season
