Turkey has been in good form heading into Euro 2020. They have recovered from their Nations League relegation by making a great start to their World Cup qualifying.

Goalkeeper: Ugurcan Cakir

Fenerbache legend Rustu Recber has been the man in goal for Turkey over the past two decades, racking up 120 caps for the country. Although at Euro 2o2o, it would be Ugurcan Cakir and his seven caps to wear the Number 1 jersey. Cakir has been in stupendous form between the sticks keeping 13 clean sheets for Trabzonspor, more than any other keeper in the league.

Defence: Caglar Soyuncu 

Soyuncu has filled the void left by Harry Maguire to perfection for Leicester City. He has been crucial to Brendan Rodgers in the last couple of years. Soyuncu has turned into one of the best defenders in the Premier League. His partnership with Ozan Kabak will be crucial to Turkey hopes in Euro 2020.

Midfield: Hakan Calhanoglu

It’s hard to find a player more influential to club and country at this present moment than Hakan Calhanoglu. The scintillating playmaker has been splitting defenses for fun in Serie A all season, racking up an impressive eight assists, and inviting AC Milan fans to once again dream of Scudetto glory.

Forward: Burak Yilmaz

Burak Yilmaz has been in scintillating form this season, leading the Lille front line to perfection. His 16 goals played a crucial hand in Lille winning Ligue 1. His partnership with Jonathan David, 14 years his junior has been a joy to watch this season. Calhanoglu will be licking his lips at the prospect of teeing up Yilmaz this summer, given the forward’s prolific form and experience.
