Atletico Madrid star Luis Suarez claims Erling Haaland has the edge over rival Kylian Mbappe.

After incredible starts to their careers at Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain, respectively, Haaland and Mbappe are poised to become the most dominant figures in world football over the next decade.

Their brewing rivalry could replace the debate between former Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona’s legendary captain Lionel Messi, and Suarez has weighed in.

According to Marca, the Uruguayan international said in a Twitch interview with Gerard Romero: “He (Haaland) is a fantastic player at a magnificent level. He has admirable athletic strength, is one of the greatest No.9s in the world, and will usher in a new era. I like Haaland a little more, but Mbappe is good.”

After another impressive goal-scoring season in Dortmund, Real Madrid and Barcelona have both been linked with moves for Norwegian international Haaland.

However, Premier League giants Manchester City and Liverpool are also interested in the former RB Salzburg player, with Liverpool theoretically battling Real Madrid for the French starlet Mbappe in the coming years.
